Flowmeters can reduce wasted energy
Specialised importer and distributor of industrial and electronic products Actum Group offers a range of energy efficient products to service a variety of industrial and electric applications.
“In our energy efficiency range, we have world-leading brands that can help customers run not only a more efficient, but also a safer, operation,” states Actum Group director Greg Barron.
One such brand is equipment supplier Flexim’s ultrasonic flowmeters.
The ultrasonic flowmeters for energy can monitor energy consumption and show customers where they are overspending on electricity.
Additionally, if there is a leak that is resulting in wasted energy and high costs, Flexim’s non-invasive permanent, or portable, thermal energy meters allow for an easy determination of thermal energy flows in a building.
He points out that the meter measures temperature at the inlet and outlet of a system, as well as flow at the outlet.
Barron explains that the meter also calculates the thermal energy flows from outside a pipe wall, making the solution maintenance free.
“In times of rising energy prices and environmental regulations, optimising thermal energy flows is crucial. From heat delivery between central heating plants and real estate end-users to heat transfer flows in industrial processes, controlling and balancing the flow of energy is vital for cost-conscious users,” Barron emphasises.
Actum also supplies other brands, such as air equipment supplier Nederman air extraction units that extract harmful particles and dust from the air; and Gesipa air tools, that use environmentally safer lithium-ion batteries.
The company also supplies cooling cabinets for data centres from technology provider nVent Schroff.
