Harker battery energy storage system (BESS).

Between Todhills and Westlinton, in Carlisle, Cumberland, in the UK.

Project Owner/s
Recurrent Energy and Windel Energy.

Project Description
The project entails the construction and energisation of a 200 MW/400 MWh BESS, with associated infrastructure. The site comprises three fields measuring an estimated 6.4 ha and will include about 162 battery container 
units.

The system will be connected to the nearby Harker national grid substation through an underground 400 kV cable, which is expected to be buried in the adopted highway.
