As Africa positions itself for a new era of energy growth and investment, the Invest in African Energy (IAE) Forum in Paris brings together top executives, policymakers and financiers to chart the future of the continent’s oil, gas and energy industries. With billions in investment opportunities at stake and rising global demand for African energy, the forum will explore how to maximize returns, scale innovation and secure long-term energy supply.

The event will open under the theme, “Maximizing Returns: Pioneering Africa’s Energy Boom” focusing on strategies to unlock the full value of Africa’s vast hydrocarbon resources. Discussions will center on regulatory frameworks, fiscal incentives and financing models that drive profitability while expanding energy access. Ongoing developments like Eni’s Congo LNG, ExxonMobil’s Rovuma LNG and TotalEnergies’ Mozambique LNG projects highlight the growing momentum behind Africa’s LNG sector, where strategic investments and enabling environments are unlocking high-return opportunities.

IAE 2025 is an exclusive forum designed to facilitate investment between African energy markets and global investors. Taking place May 13-14, 2025 in Paris, the event offers delegates two days of intensive engagement with industry experts, project developers, investors and policymakers. For more information, please visit www.invest-africa-energy.com. To sponsor or participate as a delegate, please contact sales@energycapitalpower.com.

The afternoon sessions – taking place under the theme, “Innovation and Investment: A Blueprint for Africa’s Resource Development” – will highlight the role of cutting-edge technology and new investment mechanisms in driving efficiency and exploration success. Emerging developments like Namibia’s billion-barrel oil discoveries by Shell, TotalEnergies and Galp in the Orange Basin demonstrate how frontier investment and innovation are unlocking new energy frontiers.

Day two will shift focus to “Enabling Growth and Investments in Mature Markets,” examining opportunities in Africa’s established energy hubs. In Nigeria, the rise of indigenous operators is reshaping the upstream landscape, while major deepwater developments such as Bonga North and Owowo West, alongside the $10 billion Dangote Refinery, are set to enhance production capacity and energy security. Meanwhile, Angola’s ongoing licensing round and deepwater projects like the Agogo West Hub reflect the country’s commitment to sustaining investment, optimizing resources, and maintaining its position as a leading African producer.

The forum will conclude under the theme, “Future-Proofing Africa’s Energy Security,” outlining strategies to balance fossil fuel development with renewable integration while addressing infrastructure and financing gaps. Senegal’s phased rollout of gas-to-power projects, including the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG development, exemplifies how nations are leveraging diverse energy sources to build long-term resilience, while Mauritania advances its BirAllah gas project to strengthen regional energy security and attract new investment.

“With global capital increasingly looking to Africa for new energy investments, this forum serves as a crucial platform for decision-makers to forge partnerships, shape policy, and drive projects that will define the future of African energy,” said Sandra Jeque, Event & Project Director at Energy Capital & Power. “By addressing key themes such as maximizing returns, fostering innovation, strengthening mature markets and ensuring long-term energy security, the forum will provide actionable insights to accelerate investment and development across the continent.”

The upcoming Invest in African Energy (IAE) Forum, taking place in Paris on May 13-14, 2025, stands at the forefront of investment and policy decisions that will define the continent’s energy future. Set to convene key stakeholders, global investors and government leaders across a two-day agenda, IAE 2025 provides a unique platform for industry leaders to discuss emerging trends, forge strategic partnerships and report on the most pressing issues shaping Africa’s energy landscape.
