Adjacent to the Umsinde Emoyeni and Khangela Emoyeni wind farms, in the Western Cape and Northern Cape provinces, South Africa.

Project Description
Ishwati Emoyeni is a 144 MW commercial and industrial off-take wind energy facility comprising thirty-two 4.5 MW wind turbines at a hub-height of 96 m above ground level, each with a rotor diameter of 163 m.

The project forms part of Anthem’s Northern Cluster, which comprises three 140 MW wind farms in the vicinity of Murraysburg, in the Western Cape.

Each wind farm comprises 32 Vestas V163-4.5 MW wind turbines with a hub height of 96 m and a rotor diameter of 163 m.

Capital Expenditure
R4.9-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
Construction of the wind farm started in February 2025 and is scheduled to start generating electricity in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Latest Developments
The final turbine foundation has been poured at the Ishwati Emoyeni Wind Farm, with all 96 turbine foundations for the Northern Cluster projects now cast.

Consequently, wind turbine installation will continue and testing will be undertaken in 2026, with full commercial operation expected from the fourth quarter of 2026.

Vestas (wind turbine supply and installation); Raubex Infrastructure (construction of the civil and electrical balance-of-plant, including the turbine foundations, as well as the distribution grid connection works); Adenco Construction and CSV Construction joint venture (Gamma Main Transmission Substation).
