Energy technology provider Midea Energy Solutions, a product division of global appliance and air conditioning manufacturer Midea, has partnered with local distributors Livance Distributors and Fourways Group to launch the Midea Energy Solutions range of inverter and energy storage products.

The Midea brand has been in South Africa since 2013 and has now undertaken to extend its product offerings to include Midea Energy Solutions’ products through its networks in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.

“We have ensured that all legal compliances and accreditations have been attained for the products for the local markets,” says Midea Energy Solutions national product manager Danie Henning.

The initial range consists of the Midea 5 kW and 8 kW single-phase hybrid inverters.

The range also comprises an energy storage range made up of Midea low-voltage lithium-iron-phosphate batteries, which are available in 5.12 kWh, 12 kWh and 15 kWh sizes.

“Our inverters and batteries, which work at optimal efficiencies when coupled together, can be easily integrated into a client's existing system if needed,” he says.

The smart hybrid inverters can cater for on-grid, off-grid, and combination on- and off-grid installations, as well as for inputs from the main supply grid and photovoltaic panels.

They can also be coupled with standby generators and battery storage systems and offer various customisable modes where the energy can be directed to battery priority, load priority or grid (discharge) as required.

“The systems allow for remote monitoring and system management.

“The inverters are compatible with most leading solar panel brands and their various panel wattage size ranges available,” Henning enthuses.

Further, the Midea Energy Solutions product range is an expansion of the current Midea product ranges available in South Africa, comprising commercial and industrial air conditioning products, as well as an extensive household appliance range that includes microwave ovens, washing machines, dishwashers and refrigerators.
