Johannesburg-based South African thermal systems manufacturing company Cyclotherm Boilers has proudly announced that it has almost completed a “landmark project”. This involved the design, manufacture and installation of a 3 m x 12 m open steam autoclave, specifically developed for rubber curing applications.

This high-performance autoclave, one of the largest of its type ever produced in South Africa, was manufactured at the company’s Johannesburg facility. It has been delivered to the customer and is on site, where final completion is under way, including cladding and finishing work. When fully commissioned, it will provide increased operational efficiencies.

Every element of the autoclave was carefully designed and precisely manufactured. The project demonstrates the company’s commitment to industrial progress, the development of local content, and tailor-made steam engineering systems. Its development is a “significant achievement” for the local manufacturing sector.

The autoclave served “as a proud reflection of South Africa’s capacity for industrial innovation and world-class engineering solutions,” affirmed the company. It will “serve as a testament to Cyclotherm’s ability to deliver complex, tailor-made thermal systems that support industry growth and performance”.
