Malmesbury, Swartland, in the Western Cape, South Africa.

Sustainable Power Solutions (SPS).

Project Description
SPS acquired two 5 MW solar projects through the acquisition of its shareholding in Slimsun Too.

The projects will connect to State-owned power utility Eskom’s Eenboom substation, using the Eskom network to deliver energy to Energy Exchange’s customers.

Capital Expenditure
Each solar project has an investment value of about R85-million.

Planned Start/End Date
Construction for the first solar project started in July 2024 and is targeted for completion by May 1, 2025. The second solar project will start in May 2025 and is projected to be completed within 12 months.

Latest Developments
SPS announced the signing of a power purchase agreement with Energy Exchange, the energy trading company jointly owned by Remgro and RMB, for the offtake of the energy from the solar plants in July 2024.
