Masana Petroleum Solutions (Masana), a pioneering majority black-owned and managed company is celebrating twenty years of excellence and positive impact in the South African petroleum products and energy solutions sector.
Managing Director, Morena Sithole says, “From inspired and aspirational beginnings, Masana has experienced exceptional growth over the past twenty years, built on a competitive value proposition that anticipates and responds to our customers’ evolving needs in the various commercial and industrial sectors within the South African economy. None of this would have been possible without the commitment of our valued partners, including our valued customers, suppliers and employees. Moving forward, this is a legacy to build on, further deepening our customer-centric solutions offering and playing our role in fuelling the economy.”
Masana’s Chairman, Paul Nkuna says, “Masana’s agile and inclusive approach to business has been the cornerstone of its success over the years and has continued to position itself in the most competitive way possible in the market. We are proud of the commitment of everyone at Masana to growing the business, and the critical role played by our various partners across our value chain, including our shareholders, management team and employees.”
Masana is 54% black-owned, of which 23% is in the hands of black women. Multinational bp - one of the world's largest energy companies and with over 100 years of successful operations in South Africa – holds 50.5% of equity ownership. The balance of the ownership is held by Kwanati, an investment consortium made up of Ata Capital, DBF Capital and Kwande Energy, and employees through a share scheme.
The company has built long-term, solid relationships with large organisations across South Africa through its product and client service offerings, including strategic partnerships with bp, Castrol and Energy and Combustion Services (ECS), a leading provider of energy management solutions to industry.
As a corporate citizen, and in line with its Values, Masana has pioneered and supported numerous CSI initiatives and programmes in focus areas including health care, education, youth development, rural community development, environmental conservation awareness and waste management.
“We wish to thank all our valued stakeholders and business partners for your dedication, collaboration and support that has enabled this milestone. It is this dedication, collaboration and support that will ensure continued excellence with our partners” concludes Sithole.
