Drive technology and automation specialist SEW-EURODRIVE is showcasing its various innovative automation solutions at the thirteenth Africa Automation Technology Fair, which is being held at Gallagher Convention Centre, in Johannesburg, from May 6 to 8.

In line with the fair’s theme of ‘Future Ready Smart Solutions’, SEW-EURODRIVE business development electronics manager Willem Strydom discusses how the company differentiates itself through its holistic approach to system efficiency, providing a complete portfolio rather than just optimising individual components, products, applications or machinery.

SEW-EURODRIVE’s customisable and scalable automation solutions are driving efficiencies and enhanced productivity across multiple industries, delivering added value to plants and manufacturing facilities, and unlocking significant savings, without clients having to invest significant capital expenditure.

The company, which assists clients in navigating the transition toward higher motor efficiency standards like IE3 and IE4 while maximising overall system performance, offers in-depth energy assessments and product population surveys, to enable the company to improve the system efficiency.

In the food and beverage and automotive sectors, for example, SEW-EURODRIVE has achieved between 25% and 38% energy savings.

Strydom adds that customisation and scalability are vital in automation, highlighting that the flexibility of the company’s product range provides an advantage in the market, as it can tailor solutions for a specific industry, from mining through to food and beverage, or to specific applications.

SEW-EURODRIVE’s MOVI-C modular automation system, designed to simplify automation processes across various industries, plays a key role in automation, bringing flexibility, integration and efficiency to a range of sectors.

The MOVI-C portfolio incorporates a range of technologies, such as the MOVILINK digital data interface, which delivers real-time information indicators, such as energy efficiency, application performance and condition monitoring, across a plant’s applications.

Visitors to the SEW-EURODRIVE stand at the Africa Automation Technology Fair are able to engage with experts and explore how the company’s innovations are driving efficiency, sustainability and cost savings.
