Mitsubishi Electric acquires minority stake in Intramech
Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems (MEHITS) has acquired a minority stake in Intramech, its long-standing distributor in South Africa.
MEHITS says its strategy is to reinforce its presence in Africa, a continent it believes possesses high growth potential, with increasing demand for advanced applied heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and IT cooling solutions.
The strengthened collaboration aims to enhance local market responsiveness, improve customer service, and accelerate the adoption of MEHITS’ solutions across the region.
“This agreement represents a further important milestone in our global expansion strategy,” says MEHITS CEO Tsuruta Wataru.
“Strengthening our presence in Africa through a trusted partner like Intramech allows us to bring our advanced applied solutions closer to customers in a region that is rapidly evolving.
“We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will unlock."
“We are proud to deepen our collaboration with the Mitsubishi Electric Group,” notes Intramech MD Frans Jooste.
“This strategic alliance not only validates the strong relationship we have built over the years, but also empowers us to deliver even greater value to our customers in South Africa and beyond."
Based in Italy, MEHITS has 14 factories in Europe, China, India and Vietnam.
Intramech is a supplier of commercial and industrial air-conditioning, cooling and heating equipment, with sales and service offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
