MTN Business showcases digital transformation solutions geared towards farmers
At Nampo 2025, MTN Business reaffirmed its role as a trusted enabler of digital transformation in South Africa’s agricultural sector and beyond. As a leading information and communication technology (ICT) partner for businesses across Africa, MTN showcased its full suite of digital and connectivity solutions designed to help agribusinesses streamline operations, improve efficiency and expand their footprint.
Engineering News interviewed MTN South Africa’s chief enterprise business officer Tumi Sekhukhune-Chamayou about how the company is well-positioned to support farming enterprises looking to accelerate their digital journey. At the event in Bothaville, MTN Converged Solutions took centre stage, highlighting how mobile and ICT convergence can drive real-time decision-making and smarter farming through connected technologies.
“MTN Business is not just providing connectivity, it is delivering intelligent, integrated solutions that allow its clients to grow, expand and compete in an increasingly digital world. With a strong presence across the African continent, MTN supports agribusinesses seeking to scale operations regionally, offering cross-border ICT capabilities and market-specific support,” said Sekhukhune-Chamayou.
She continued that MTN uses platforms such as Nampo to engage directly with businesses of all sizes, showcasing how technology can unlock value from the farm to the market. Notably, Sekhukhune-Chamayou also discussed MTN MoMo, which stands for mobile money, and how this solution can benefit South Africa’s agriculture sector.
Sekhukhune-Chamayou also said that MTN Business was the ICT partner of choice for businesses across Africa explaining that their solutions were designed to empower and enable businesses to effectively accelerate the digital transformation journey. She added that they made it simple for clients to do business by offering capabilities across managed networks, unified communication, cloud, data centre, Internet-of-Things, security and mobile solutions. With MTN’s extensive footprint across Africa, Sekhukhune-Chamayou emphasised that they were a key partner in enabling geographic expansion for businesses operating in multiple countries.
“MTN enables and inspires the growth of our clients, with the mission of becoming the leading information and communications technology partner of choice. Our determination to connect emerging markets – through our mobile communications and ICT solutions – has given us an extensive footprint across Africa and the Middle East aligning with our core aim and tagline of #BusinessDoneBetter.
MTN Converged Solutions is at the forefront of this transformation, dedicated to providing mobile, connectivity and ICT converged solutions for businesses of all sizes. We are driven by a pan-African strategy to become a leading market player, showcasing global use cases and facilitating cocreation with our clients.
