New materials handling facility launched
Materials handling equipment provider Eurolift says its forklift and material handling business, launched in Johan- nesburg in May, has had a positive response from the market.
Eurolift supplies a range of diesel, electric and liquefied-petroleum-gas forklifts, reach trucks, power stackers, electric pallet jacks, custom conveying lines and other materials handling solutions.
“The new division, in Johannesburg, supplies forklifts and fabrication-engineering solutions, which comprise custom designs, fabrications and the installation of manufacturing lines, as well as packaging equipment and conveying systems,” notes Eurolift director Sean Marelich.
He adds that the company’s new forklift offering was designed over the last two years in accordance with European specifications. “All units are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 and 14001, have European Conformity, or CE, certificates and Environmental Protection Agency Tier 3- and EU Stage IIIA-rated engines certified to meet/exceed carbon emissions and use high-quality components, which ensures a long wear life,” notes Marelich.
Eurolift is an Africa-based company, combining high-quality-engineered products that are aligned with European specifications, with components manufactured locally, as well as in Italy, the US and Japan.
Eurolift’s parent company, global food processing equipment supplier JF Equipment, is involved in the handling of food goods; therefore, Eurolift recognises the value of expanding into other markets to provide a full materials handling solution.
“We believe there is a huge demand for personalised, low-cost and robust handling solutions with the support of an after-sales service,” says Marelich, adding that ongoing energy increases and labour costs have driven the demand for cost-effective solutions in the materials handling industry.
“The mining and engineering sectors are critical components of the South African economy and its growth. “Therefore, we saw the need to offer high-quality conveying lines and a full range of forklifts, including heavy-duty forklifts, to the engineering and mining industries and we look forward to forging strong partnerships with the industries,” he adds.
“We spent the last two years developing products that are built to withstand the demanding operating environment of South Africa. “All machinery components were carefully chosen from leading manufacturers in Japan, Italy and the US and assembled in the most cost-efficient manner,” Marelich points out. He notes that there is significant demand in the materials handling industry for a reliable and robust solution suitable for the South Africa market.
“Service is at the heart of the organisation and we pride ourselves on doing it right the first time. When it comes to the materials handling environment, it is critical to reduce downtime, as it costs money,” notes Marelich.
