Gold miner Newmont announced on Friday that its Mexico subsidiary, Newmont Peñasquito, had signed a new collective bargain agreement (CBA) with the National Union of Mining, Metallurgical, Steel, and Similar Workers of Mexico for 2024 to 2026.

The company said the agreement was the outcome of a collaborative process characterised by open dialogue and a shared focus on the safety and well-being of the workforce.

“The CBA safeguards the rights of all workers and provides a solid foundation for continuing operations that secures a sustainable future for Peñasquito,” Newmont stated.
