PALFINGER’s innovation, growth to be on display at Bauma 2025
Global leader in lifting solutions PALFINGER continues to expand its presence worldwide, with a strong focus on digitalisation, service excellence and market-specific product development. As a family-owned company with 56,5% ownership by the Palfinger family, the business operates across 30 production sites, serving industries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, North and South America, and the marine sector. While construction remains a key market, it represents just 35% of the company's business, ensuring diversification across multiple industries, including mining.
North America is a key growth region for PALFINGER, with demand for specialised lifting solutions such as loader cranes and aerial platforms increasing. The company has adapted its product offerings to meet local needs, incorporating regional specifications and local production. Mining, particularly in Australia and South America, also plays a significant role in the company’s portfolio, with smaller cranes used extensively for maintenance in mining operations.
Showcasing Innovation
At Bauma, the world’s leading construction machinery trade fair, PALFINGER will be showcasing its full range of lifting solutions, including cranes, aerial work platforms and forklifts. A major focus is on service solutions that ensure maximum uptime for customers. “Digitalisation is a game-changer, enabling real-time monitoring of equipment health, optimising maintenance schedules, and enhancing overall efficiency,” notes PALFINGER product line leader Gerhard Auer.
"In industries like mining, uptime is critical. Our digital tools and service network ensure that our customers experience minimal downtime and maximum productivity," adds PALFINGER director for sales in EMEA Bernd Winderle.
However, he points out that PALFINGER’s service offerings extend beyond product sales. The company is committed to long-term customer satisfaction through an extensive global service network, digital tools for seamless maintenance tracking, and operator training solutions. “One of the most innovative approaches is the use of virtual reality for operator training, simulating real-world conditions to enhance safety and efficiency,” he says.
Additionally, PALFINGER also aims to expand its footprint in Africa.
With an established presence with distributors in South Africa and northern African countries, the company is actively seeking partnerships in other key African markets.
“The goal is to provide reliable lifting solutions and strengthen service networks across the continent,” notes Winderle.
Meanwhile, as the industry shifts toward electrification and environment-friendly solutions, PALFINGER remains at the forefront by integrating advanced safety systems and sustainable technologies into its products. This aligns with global efforts to reduce carbon footprints and enhance operational safety across various industries, says Auer.
With a clear vision for the future, PALFINGER’s presence at Bauma 2025 is not just about showcasing products but also about reinforcing its commitment to innovation, service excellence and customer-centric solutions. By leveraging digitalisation, expanding service networks, and tailoring products to regional needs, PALFINGER continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in lifting solutions, concludes Winderle.
