Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, announces the launch of its new Universal Quick Disconnect (UQD) couplings, specifically designed for liquid cooling applications in data centers and supercomputers. This cutting-edge solution addresses the increasing demands of IT power densification while ensuring compliance with Open Compute Project (OCP) specifications, reflecting Parker's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the industry.

The UQD couplings feature an ergonomic, color-coded push-button that simplifies the assembly and disconnection of liquid cooling circuits. This innovative approach minimizes installation errors and enhances usability, even in the confined spaces typical of modern data centers. Made from a robust blend of high-performance polymers and corrosion-resistant stainless steel, these couplers ensure durability and reliability in the most demanding environments.

The advanced polymer used in the UQD couplings not only provides exceptional flexibility but also contributes to superior flow rates, allowing for efficient heat transfer in liquid cooling systems. This combination of flexibility and performance is crucial for maintaining optimal operating conditions in high-density computing environments. Additionally, the UQD couplings are designed with scalability in mind, making them an ideal choice for rapidly evolving data center infrastructures that require adaptable solutions.

They are compatible with a variety of fluids, including propylene glycol coolants, ethylene glycol coolants, deionized water, dielectric coolants, and water. Furthermore, the materials used in the UQD couplings comply with UL94 stringent flammability regulations, ensuring safety in all operational environments.

Mathieu Houpert, OEM Business Unit Manager at Parker Hannifin, stated: “We are excited to introduce the Universal Quick Disconnect couplings, which represent a significant advancement in liquid cooling technology. Our UQD couplings not only meet the rigorous demands of the industry but also contribute to improved operational efficiency.”

Parker Hannifin is a proud member of the OCP, which aims to accelerate the pace of innovation in the data center industry. This membership underscores Parker's dedication to collaborating with industry leaders to develop open-source hardware solutions that enhance performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
