Parker’s New FlatFit Air Fluid Cooler is Optimized for Electrification Applications Where Space is Limited
This article has been supplied.
Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has launched its new QDC026 FlatFit air fluid cooler, designed specifically for compact electrification applications. This innovative cooler combines a high-performance 850 V DC brushless motor with a sleek, space-saving design, making it ideal for modern vehicles and compact machinery where installation space is at a premium. The QDC026 FlatFit also features a unique fan swivel mechanism, allowing easy access for cleaning to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
The QDC air fluid cooler series is designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern powertrains, offering compatibility with a wide range of thermal management applications using water/glycol or oil-based fluids. It offers a wide range of cooling capacities from 10 kW up to 170 kW. The QDC026 FlatFit stands out by delivering two to three times higher cooling capacity at the required water-glycol flow rate compared to the QDC 12/24 V DC series, making it a superior choice for inverter and motor cooling systems. Alternatively, it can achieve the same cooling capacity with a significantly reduced installation footprint, addressing the growing demand for compact thermal management solutions.
A key feature of the QDC026 FlatFit is its 850 V DC brushless motor with the integrated inverter, which precisely controls fan rotation speed via a standard CAN bus signal. This intelligent speed regulation minimizes power consumption by adjusting the fan to the minimum required RPM to effectively dissipate heat from the fluid. Coupled with Parker’s advanced heat exchanger turbulator design, this ensures highly efficient and quiet operation, suitable even for noise-sensitive environments.
With an installation depth of just 290 mm – reducible to 250 mm upon request – this compact design provides exceptional flexibility for integration into tight spaces without compromising performance. Additional features include integrated ports for sensorics and bleeding, a fan drive mounted on a swivel frame for easy cleaning, and IP68 protection, guaranteeing durability and resilience in harsh operating environments.
Designed for ease of use and advanced control, this cooling solution is fully harmonized with Parker’s IQAN controller and sensorics, ensuring smooth integration into existing vehicle control systems. An optional cleaning and flushing feature allows fluid purity down to 5 µS/cm, supporting long-term maintenance and optimal performance. This state-of-the-art cooling system sets a new standard for efficiency, compactness, and intelligent control in thermal management for next-generation vehicles.
