A new single-stage, four-way hydraulic valve that features a round solenoid design and delivers high power capacity and improved durability has been launched by Danfoss Power Solutions.

The KBFRG4-5 valve is designed for a range of industrial applications, including wind turbines, machine tools, plastic molding, metal forming, and pulp and paper processing.

The product forms part of the company’s expansion of its Vickers range and is said to deliver higher power capacities than other valves on the market. The proportional valve features a maximum pressure rating of 350 bar and a maximum flow of 290 ℓ a minute at 57 bar, with a a step response of 20 milliseconds that adds to its performance capabilities.

The valve is engineered to withstand tough conditions and features an IP67 ingress protection rating and a robust metal housing for increased vibration and shock resistance. A high corrosion resistance option is also available and the valve complies with industry standard certifications, including CE, UKCA, REACH, RoHS, and EMI/EMC.

“Vickers has long been the trusted name in industrial hydraulics, and Danfoss will continue to invest in the portfolio to meet the evolving needs of our customers. The KBFRG4-5 proportional valve is just one example. With its robust design, high performance, and advanced features, the valve is an ideal choice for a wide range of demanding applications,” said Danfoss Power Solutions global product manager: industrial division Dr Peter Lauer.

The offering includes tools and features aimed at simplifying setup, commissioning, and troubleshooting. The valve features CAN communication and configurable control modes, which can be programmed using Danfoss’ Pro-FX configure software. Optional valve test kits are available to help simplify on-site commissioning and built-in health monitoring and LED indicator lights streamline diagnostics.

The valve design incorporates round solenoids and an external linear variable differential transformer with standard CETOP 5 body and spools. Multiple spool options with various flow ratings are also available.

The Vickers portfolio by Danfoss proportional valves offers a variety of features and performance levels, from standard performance valves without feedback to servo performance valves with dual motion control, to meet the demands of a range of industrial hydraulic applications.
