Rothdene pumpstation upgrade allows municipality to accommodate growth in area

Sashnee Moodley: Following the completion of the Rothdene Pump Station at the end of June, the project aims to provide the Midvaal Municipality with an opportunity to start several housing and social developments in the area. Simone Liedtke tells us more.
Simone Liedtke: Funded by the Department of Water and Sanitation, the upgrade of the Rothdene Pump Station involved the construction of a rising main to connect to the Meyerton Wastewater Treatment Works.
Speaking to Regional Bulk Infrastructure Programme assistant regional project manager Sefako Mamabulo onsite in June, he tells Engineering News a little about the rational surrounding the project.

Simone Liedtke: Following its completion at the end of June, the Rothdene Pumpstation has since then been transferred to the Midvaal Municipality, which will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the pumpstation. It is the intention of the Midvaal Municipality to upgrade the pumpstation to accommodate growth in the area.
