South Africans are showing commendable resilience in the face of the energy challenge

The rate at which South African companies and South African citizens are responding to the energy challenge is reflecting commendable resilience.

The fact that every business you speak to these days has a way of filling in the electricity gap or taking over what the public sector has done in the past is spreading economic confidence.

The volume of electricity being generated from rooftop solar panels, for example, is phenomenal. Some are calculating it to be the equivalent of two phases of loadshedding. Self-generating so much electricity so fast reflects an admirable preparedness to fill in a win-win manner.
