Rexroth, represented locally by Tectra Automation, has announced the launch of two eLINE Compact Modules - the eCKK and eCKR. These cost-effective solutions are ideal for general mechanical engineering applications and complement the existing range of preassembled linear systems.

"This product family has experienced significant growth since its introduction into the local market in early 2006," says Kevin Lombard, Tectra Automation Divisional Manager - Linear Motion and Assembly Technology.

"The eLINE linear motion guide system offers just the right level of precision at affordable prices. eLINE products offer greater economy than many a conventional alternative, minimising both the upfront investment - from selection through to installation - and the operating costs. The product range initially included ball rail systems. After only a few months, ball screw assemblies, linear bushings and shafts were added. Now, Rexroth has launched this latest offering."

The linear motion systems with ball screw drive or toothed belt drive have made it much easier for users to select the right product, assemble and commission it.

Already fitted, the stepping motor with positioning control has 16 user-programmable positions. Start-up is simple via a PC graphic user interface using already compiled parameter files which are available for download from the Internet. The eLINE Compact Module drive communicates with higher-level control units via digital I/O-ports. The axes also work in stand-alone mode independently of any additional PLC. The operator moves the linear systems manually in jog-mode and simply programmes target positions using the teach-in function.
 
The connecting dimensions of the eLINE Compact Modules - eCKK with eLINE ball screw and eCKR with toothed belt - are identical to those of the established standard Compact Modules supplied by Rexroth. The pre-set pitch lengths with logically allocated order numbers simplify selection from among the many available strokes and lengths.
 
Two integrated backlash-free eLINE Ball Rail Systems guarantee the smooth action of the carriage. With the innovative hybrid technology they combine the weight advantages of aluminium with the toughness of the hardened steel inserts. As such, the eLINE Compact Modules combine high travel velocities with high precision and quiet, smooth running along strokes of up to 1,315 mm. Factory lubricated for life, the eLINE Compact Modules can move up to 15 kg payload with size 90 when working horizontally and up to 30 kg payload with size 110.

The eLINE Compact Modules represent a highly attractive, simplified, and cost-effective addition to the existing Compact Module series.
