The M-CRANE tyre, a “next-generation” tyre for mobile cranes, has been introduced to the market by industrial tyre manufacturer Magna Tyres.

The M-CRANE enhances crane efficiency, endurance and strength for construction and industrial operations.

As mobile crane operations become more demanding, operators need tyres that can handle heavier loads, tougher terrains and higher efficiency standards. With its increased load capacity, longer durability and lower fuel consumption, the M-CRANE helps address these industry challenges, notes Magna Tyres.

The M-CRANE tyre is designed for heavy lifting, improving upon standards for crane tyres used in the past, such as the company’s MA03 series.

Further, this new range is equipped with advanced engineering, making it a more efficient and cost-effective solution that “promises longevity” in varying operations.

There are several benefits of using the M-CRANE tyre for operations that involve heavy lifting and transporting abnormal loads. Firstly, the M-CRANE tyre – with its three-layer pagoda crown belt design – boasts a load capacity of 7 500 kg while travelling at 80 km/h, with Magna Tyres noting that it is “unmatched” in terms of load capacity, traction and durability.

Magna Tyres commercial director Hein de Wind says that the M-CRANE tyre is equipped with a new compound formula that reduces heat generation by 5% and increases tensile and tear strength. The reinforced sidewall also enhances stiffness to reduce damage.

Its semi-closed shoulder design and durability properties also reduce uneven wear as well as groove stress and improve durability performance by 30% through its belt wrap technology.
