Gas supplier Afrox will be showcasing its integrated range of services and solutions for the agriculture sector at the Grain SA Nampo Harvest Day, which will be held from May 14 to 17, near Bothaville, in the Free State.

This includes Afrox’s latest cutting, heating and welding equipment and consumables, as well as tailor-made gas solutions and technical support services for the farming community.

Afrox has served the needs of the agriculture sector for more than 80 years, and continues to develop innovative products and services that increase productivity, lower production costs, and improve quality.

Afrox manufacturing industries business manager Johann Pieterse says the company will be highlighting its 360º Integrated Customer Application Solutions and Safety Solutions programmes at this year’s Nampo.

“Our Integrated Customer Application Solutions programme aims to understand customers’ application challenges and proposes effective solutions that include selecting the most appropriate high-quality Afrox gases, welding consumables and equipment that is the best fit for the application,” says Pieterse.

He mentions that an optimised welding procedure is then developed for each application, and Afrox also undertakes any necessary upskilling or training of staff to optimise the new solution if required.

Once fully operational, Afrox provides ongoing support and maintenance to the project to ensure the proposed saving and increased productivity and quality promises are met.

Pieterse says Afrox is the only company extending this 360º capability to customers across South Africa, identifying opportunities to assist customers by implementing complete solutions, and providing full backup and support.

“Visitors to the stand at Nampo will be able to talk to our welding application specialists about their applications and possible solutions. The specialists will also encourage customers that are interested in obtaining more detailed information about the 360º capability to visit the Afrox technology application centre in Germiston after the show, where customised applications and/or training can be facilitated more comprehensively,” says Pieterse.

Visitors can also look forward to interactive welding displays on the Afrox stand, and have the opportunity to test the welding machines and equipment. In addition, Afrox application specialists and the 2018 SAIW Welder of the Year winners will be performing live welding demonstrations showcasing manual metal arc welding as well as tungsten inert gas and metal inert gas welding for farming applications.

A major attraction on the Afrox stand at last year’s show, the Welder of the Day competition will once again give visitors the chance to test their welding skills in knock-out rounds to compete for top welding honours. The best welder each day will walk away with the prize of a new Afrox welding machine, welding helmet and a pack of Vitemax welding electrodes.

Exclusive show-only promotions on commonly used products in the farming environment will include Vitemax, Afrox’s leading premium electrode for mild steel applications, and the Afrox exclusive Agrigas and Porta range of gas cylinders, giving farmers the option of acquiring a cylinder without paying any rental fees.
