Women in Mining South Africa (WiMSA)
Raksha Naidoo
Position and Company Name: Chairperson of Women in Mining South Africa and CEO of The Particle Group
Main activity of the company: At WiMSA, I volunteer on the working committee, supporting women’s growth and leadership in South African mining. In my day job at The Particle Group, I lead two independent analytical businesses specialising in certified reference materials.
Management Style: My management style is rooted in fostering transparent communication and collaboration. I prioritise creating a supportive environment where team members feel valued and empowered to think independently. I believe in promoting authenticity and encouraging unique perspectives. My goal is to create a productive, engaging, and fulfilling workplace where everyone is proud to be part of the team.
Personal best achievement: I am immensely proud of stepping into leadership and significantly growing the business I lead. My role at WiMSA allows me to fulfill my passion and give back, which is incredibly rewarding. However, my greatest joy comes from making a positive impact on people’s lives, seeing them bloom and prosper. That fills my heart with happiness and reassures me that I have done something right.
Person you would most like to meet: I would love to meet Pep Guardiola. He’s an incredible football manager and leader whose commitment, focus and discipline have turned average players into one of the strongest teams in the world. His belief in his team, evident passion, and ability to balance the demands of the game, shareholders and fans are truly inspiring. I’d love to learn from his passion and management skills.
Philosophy of Life: Live your purpose, hold onto your faith and choose happiness always.
Message for other women leaders and aspiring leaders: The journey will have its challenges, and that’s okay. Never give up. Keep working hard, build strong relationships, have a clear focus on what you wish to achieve and why you want to achieve it. Being a woman is a major superpower, and it gives you strength in leadership that is unique. Believe in yourself, never change and forge your future fearlessly!
