Advanced contactor solution set to revolutionise motor management
An advanced contactor solution designed to revolutionise motor management by offering improved efficiency, reliability, simplicity and sustainability has been unveiled by energy management and automation company Schneider Electric South Africa.
The TeSys Deca Advanced contactor features wide-band coil technology, which controls 24 V to 500 V ac/dc voltage inputs and can withstand voltage fluctuations while also minimising energy consumption, resulting in reduced CO2 emissions and lower operational costs.
By combining digital capabilities, reduced energy consumption and more simplified installation, the unit is engineered to help optimise motor management while supporting sustainability and operational resilience.
“The ideal applications for the TeSys Deca Advanced are robust, high industrial environments. As a contractor, it can be used for hoisting, pumps, HVAC systems, elevators and packaging applications. Additionally, it is suitable for mining and wastewater environments, among others,” says Schneider Electric South Africa offer manager power products Thapelo Manthata.
“It was designed for diverse industrial applications and simplifies installation and maintenance processes. Its ergonomic three-layer setup organises wiring for optimal visibility and accessibility, streamlining operations and minimising the need for specialised skills in the workforce,” he adds.
Manthata asserts that one-click connection technology reduces installation time by up to
75%, allowing for rapid deployment in critical environments where uptime is essential. In addition, direct programmable logic controller, or PLC, control capability reduces complexity in selection and inventory management by 80%, facilitating smoother operations.
“[The solution] supports predictive maintenance by offering real-time diagnostics, allowing users to foresee and address potential problems before they cause any downtime,” says Manthata.
The unit is suitable for various sectors, including manufacturing, heating, ventilation and cooling, or HVAC, and industrial facilities.
