Document management, print and digital workflow solutions provider Altron Document Solutions (ADS) is acquiring a controlling equity stake in document solutions and technology services company Xtec KZN.

The strategic acquisition accelerates ADS's regional growth and expands service delivery capabilities across South Africa, with particular focus on the KwaZulu-Natal market.

“Xtec KZN has built a strong reputation in the KwaZulu-Natal region for delivering high-quality managed print services, document management solutions and technology support to a diverse client base spanning the public and private sectors,” said ADS MD Yolanden Moodley, describing the acquisition as a significant milestone.

The company’s established relationships, skilled team and deep knowledge of the local market make it an ideal partner for ADS as it pursues its growth strategy.

“Xtec KZN shares our values of service excellence and customer-centricity. By combining our resources, technology platforms and expertise, we will be able to offer an even broader and more competitive range of solutions to businesses and institutions across KwaZulu-Natal.”

The immediate and long-term benefits to customers of both organisations include access to ADS’s extensive document management, managed print and digital transformation solutions portfolio; strengthened technical support and service delivery capabilities across KwaZulu-Natal; a broader network of skills and resources to support complex, large-scale deployments; and continued commitment to local service teams and relationships that customers have come to rely on.

ADS will retain the Xtec KZN team and maintain continuity of service for all existing customers.

“The existing Xtec KZN leadership will remain in place in the short term to ensure a seamless transition and preserve the strong culture and customer relationships that have been central to the company's success,” said Moodley.

“We are excited to become part of the Altron family. This partnership gives us access to greater resources, a wider solutions portfolio and the backing of one of South Africa's most respected technology groups. It is a fantastic outcome for our team, our customers and the KwaZulu-Natal business community,” concluded Xtec MD Cassim Khan.
