AxFlow AQS Liquid Transfer showcases cost-effective tech

AxFlow AQS Liquid Transfer MD Leon Fourie speaks to Engineering News at Propak Africa 2025 in Johannesburg about how the company is helping companies in the packaging, processing, printing, labelling and recycling industries to prepare for the future.
As the exclusive African representative for Swedish fluid handling expert AxFlow, AQS Liquid Transfer showcased its advanced product offering at Propak Africa 2025, the packaging, printing, food processing, plastics and labelling trade exhibition held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre from March 11 to 14.
The company demonstrated its expertise in liquid transfer solutions, particularly for industries reliant on efficient and cost-effective pumping systems.
Among the highlights was Graco’s InvisiPac hot glue dispensing package, a game-changing technology designed for the final packaging stages of production lines, says AxFlow AQS Liquid Transfer MD Leon Fourie.
With trials conducted at ten different companies over the past year, InvisiPac has delivered remarkable results, boasting 30% to 45% glue savings and return on investment within 12 to 18 months.
“In large-scale packaging operations processing millions of units a month, these cost reductions translate to substantial financial savings, making InvisiPac a highly attractive solution,” states Fourie.
InvisiPac has gained significant traction in recent years, with notable projects, such as with one of South Africa’s largest agricultural producers, ZZ2, successfully transitioning to the system.
Additionally, companies such as dairy products manufacturer Dewfresh and other food manufacturers have embraced InvisiPac after extensive trials demonstrated clear cost-saving benefits. At alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages manufacturer Halewood, another ongoing trial is yielding promising results.
In addition to InvisiPac, AxFlow AQS Liquid Transfer also displayed its shear-sensitive, air-operated double diaphragm pumps and electrically operated diaphragm pumps, particularly for the liquid filling sector. As the proud South African distributor of Graco products, Fourie highlights the benefits of non-shear, dry-running pumps with variable control over volume and pressure, which make them ideal for applications in the food and mining industries.
Shifting Industry Trends
ProPack 2025 has revealed an interesting trend – a generational shift in industry leadership.
According to Fourie, younger professionals are now stepping into key roles in production, plant management and engineering, bringing a fresh perspective on technology adoption.
“This shift has created a greater appreciation for innovative solutions that offer cost savings and efficiency gains, reinforcing the demand for advanced automation and smart pumping technologies,” he elaborates.
AxFlow AQS Liquid Transfer emphasises the importance of sustainable cost savings as a primary driver for companies investing in new technology.
Fourie has observed a market trend where businesses are allocating fewer resources to capital expenditures while focusing more on long-term maintenance and operational efficiencies. This shift aligns perfectly with the company’s product offering, which prioritises energy efficiency, waste reduction and enhanced performance.
With a strong presence in South Africa and an expanding footprint across Africa, AxFlow AQS Liquid Transfer is well-positioned to support businesses looking to modernise their pumping and adhesive dispensing systems.
The company’s national service teams and cross-border support network ensure that customers receive reliable maintenance and technical assistance wherever they operate.
AxFlow AQS Liquid Transfer remains committed to innovation and customer success, encouraging industry players to explore the benefits of their cutting-edge solutions, concludes Fourie.
