Regulatory body the Council for the Built Environment (CBE) has welcomed the appointments of Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson and Deputy Minister Sihle Zikalala, and says it will work with them to professionalise the built environment sector.

"We aim for a future in which our sector is recognised not just for its bricks and mortar, but for its contributions to society and economic development.

"Under Minister Macpherson and Deputy Minister Zikalala, leadership must capacitate the State to ensure timely delivery of projects for the benefit of our communities. As part of this progressive path, it only makes sense that we direct our efforts towards harnessing the potential of our young people," says CBE CEO Dr Msizi Myeza.

"We request all in the sector to extend their full support and cooperation to Macpherson and Zikalala, and, together, to make our sector a beacon of excellence and progress."
