Chinese vehicle importer Chery reached a new sales record in the domestic market, with 1 502 Tiggo models sold in March.

The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro was the brand’s most popular model, with 918 units sold. This was followed by the Tiggo 7 Pro, at 395 units, and the Tiggo 8 Pro flagship, with 189 new owners.

Chery introduced the Tiggo 8 Pro with a one-million-kilometre mechanical warranty.

This warranty has since been replicated on both the Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 7 Pro.

Chery has also launched the My Chery app. The app allows customers to contact Chery, and schedule and book services from their phone.

In turn, MyCheryCare includes scratch and dent repair, rim damage repair and a drive-me-home service for Chery Tiggo Pro owners.

“We see our sales success as a direct endorsement from South African motorists and will not take it for granted,” says Chery South Africa executive deputy GM Tony Liu.

“South Africans have readily adopted our products and have become our greatest source of referral and marketing. We are truly thankful for their support and will work very hard to protect it.”

Chery has 76 dealers.
