Chery South Africa (Chery SA) has celebrated its best-ever month in the domestic market, with sales for November exceeding the 2 000-unit mark.

Last month, 2 006 Chery vehicles were sold in South Africa, with the imported Chinese brand placing seventh overall in the new-vehicle market.

This number is up from 1 831-unit sales in October, and 1 614-unit sales in September.

Year-on-year sales have seen a 28.79% increase compared with November last year.

“November has been a milestone month for Chery SA, reflecting consumers' enthusiasm for our lineup of sports-utility vehicles,” says GM Jay Jay Botes.

“Surpassing 2 000 monthly sales highlights the quality of our vehicles, and with impressive year-on-year growth, we’re excited to build on this momentum in the local market.”

Leading the sales charge in November was the Tiggo 4, at 1 191 units, followed by the Tiggo 7 with 468 units sold.

The newly launched Tiggo Cross notched up 205 sales in its debut month, while the flagship Tiggo 8 saw sales of 142 units.

This year saw the domestic introduction of the Tiggo Cross, the Tiggo 4 panel van, the all-wheel-drive Tiggo 8 Pro Max and the Tiggo 4 Pro DCT.
