Collaboration, strategic partnerships needed to tackle infrastructure challenges
Collaborative efforts and strategic partnerships are needed to address the pressing challenges facing the infrastructure sector, says industry association South African Institution of Civil Engineering (Saice) CEO Sekadi Phayane-Shakhane.
Amid the challenges the sector faces, the shared commitment among stakeholders to advancing civil engineering in South Africa will be crucial in overcoming obstacles and driving sustainable growth, she says.
"Despite the uncertainty, our vision remains to promote growth, excellence and sustainability in civil engineering, as these are critical factors needed to make a positive impact on the industry and the economy," she emphasises.
Further, Saice president-elect Friedrich Slabbert emphasises the need to recognise and appreciate the collective contributions of partners and stakeholders.
The partnership dynamics, regular communication and the collaborative efforts within the civil engineering community are key to success in the industry, he says.
Further, Saice's partners provide it with invaluable support, which has enabled it to achieve positive financial outcomes and execute impactful initiatives, he adds.
"Our partners' contributions and their commitment fuels our mission and enables us to deliver value to our members and the broader community," he says.
