Renowned French aerospace group Dassault Aviation has announced its aircraft delivery totals for last year, along with the total numbers of aircraft ordered during the year. The company specialises in advanced fighter aircraft and business, or executive, jets. Its current products are the Rafale “omnirole” fighter and the Falcon family of business jets.

Last year, the group delivered 21 Rafales, 14 of which were for the French armed forces (there is a naval version of the Rafale, for operation from the French Navy’s aircraft carrier), while the remaining seven went to export customers. This was a significant increase over the 13 deliveries made in 2023. The 2024 figure was also slightly higher than the number Dassault had forecast for 2024, which had been 20.

The Falcons, a range of midsized, super-midsized, long-range, and very long-range business jets, come in twin-jet and tri-jet versions. During 2024, the company delivered 31 of them, although Dassault had hoped to deliver 35. Nevertheless, the number was still a notable increase over the 26 delivered in 2023.

Regarding orders, last year the group recorded 30 for the Rafale, all for export customers. This was only 50% of the orders secured in 2023, which had totalled 60. However, of those 60, 42 had been for France and only 18 for export.

As for the business jets, 26 Falcons were ordered last year. This was an increase over the figure of 23 orders secured in 2023.

As of December 31, 2024, the group had an order backlog of 220 Rafales. This number was composed of 56 for France and 164 for export customers. In comparison, a year earlier, the order backlog stood at 211

Also, as of December 31 last year, the order backlog for Falcon business jets stood at 79. This was actually a decrease from the order backlog a year earlier, which had been 84.

The group will publish its full annual results on March 5 this year.
