Schneider Electric South Africa has welcomed Elihle Obi to its Board of Directors following her appointment as Global Marketing Director: Anglophone Africa in June 2024. Obi’s portfolio also includes Corporate Citizenship, highlighting her passion for driving impact through meaningful initiatives that align with Schneider Electric’s core values.

Speaking on her new responsibilities, Obi says: "It’s truly an honour to be appointed to the board of directors of a company that, as the world’s most sustainable organisation, continues to innovate and inspire in the field of energy management and beyond.

“Also, with the addition of Corporate Citizenship to my role, I now form part the Schneider Electric team responsible for driving impact for society, customers, and the world. Our mission is to provide energy solutions for everyone, everywhere.

“Indeed, by integrating Corporate Citizenship into global marketing, we can amplify the story of how Schneider Electric is showing up and impacting society—whether through sustainability, youth employment and empowerment, or digital skills development. This integration enables us to demonstrate the impact we create, making the organisation even more attractive not only to customers but to society at large."

Obi brings extensive experience to Schneider Electric, having among other previously served as Marketing Communications & Operations Director for Microsoft’s Africa Transformation Office, Group Marketing Lead for Samsung South Africa, and lead for corporate sponsorship and events at Mercedes-Benz South Africa.

Her strong leadership and strategic expertise have made her a key driver of marketing excellence across Africa, with a proven track record of delivering impactful campaigns and initiatives.

In her expanded role, Elihle will undoubtedly play an instrumental role in Schneider Electric’s continued commitment to sustainability, energy transitions, and digital skills development, further enhancing its reputation as a energy management and automation leader.

Schneider Electric looks forward to Obi’s continued contributions as both a member of the Board of Directors and a driving force behind its marketing and corporate citizenship strategies.
