Airbus has announced that it will stop building the A380 airliner by 2021, by which time the remaining buyers of the double-decker passenger aircraft, including Emirates, will take delivery of their last orders. It has been reported that Emirates will also pare down its current A380 order backlog to 14 from 53. Airbus CEO Tom Enders described the decision as “painful for us and the A380 communities worldwide”. The photograph above shows an Airbus SE A380 passenger aircraft, operated by Emirates Airline, preparing to land at London Heathrow Airport, in London, UK.
