Filter technology helps purify air
A new range of air conditioners includes state-of-the-art technology designed to purify atmospheric air with the use of anti-bacterial systems and specialised dust filters.
The new AR9500 Wind-Free air conditioner from Samsung features a PM 1.0 filter, which has an electrostatic charger to give ultra-fine dust up to 0.3 microns a positive charge so that particles attach to the negative plate. An electrostatic charger is then said to sterilise viruses and bacteria. The unit also monitors the air quality in the room with a laser sensor and automatically cleans itself with an artificial intelligence purifying function.
Samsung’s Tri-Care filter is made up of three layers which include a high-density filter that extracts large dust particles, fibres and animal hairs. A zeolite coating filter is designed to capture fine dust and eliminate viruses, bacteria and allergens.
The high density (HD) anti-bacterial filter with Easy Filter Plus, helps capture fur-baby hair, fibres and household dust, while keeping the heat exchange clean. It prevents fine dust particles and allergens from spreading into the air, and is said to be effective at capturing airborne contaminants or allergens such as pollen, mould spores and pet dander. The HD filter is washable and the dense mesh keeps dust from the heat exchanger, maintaining its efficiency for longer.
Easy Filter Plus aims to allow for self-service where filters can be removed for do-it-yourself cleaning, reducing service maintenance costs. The air conditioners are also designed to be power-efficient, helping to reduce electricity costs.
Samsung emphasises that its latest filter technology, the innovative Wind-Free air conditioner, offers an effective cooling experience without the unpleasant sensation of harsh, cold air blowing directly onto the skin. It quietly and gently disperses cool air, and in winter it offers warm, evenly distributed air.
The company has also launched a ‘Trade In/Trade Up’ promotion allowing customers to upgrade their current air conditioner, regardless of brand, to the new Samsung Wind Free air conditioner - with a 15% discount, in line with certain terms and conditions. The offer runs until December 31, 2021.
