Sustainable living created after lockdown
SERENA HOTEL NAIROBI Bosch East Africa Consulting Engineers in Kenya has extended its MEP services to include cvil and structural engineering and project management services
Multidisciplinary consulting engineering companies group Bosch Holdings is set to resume building and land development operations as South Africa lifts Covid-19 lockdown business restrictions.
“Our team of engineers and architects strives to create liveable, sustainable and innovative ideas and transform them into a reality in Africa. “We believe it is critical to not only meet and exceed design and building expectations this year, but we must make sure we anticipate the needs of future generations,” says Bosch Projects urban development divisional manager Peter Tooley.
He adds that as business restrictions are slowly lifted and companies resume operations, the company’s strategy is to strengthen its building and land development services throughout Africa.
“Our highly experienced team – with a thorough understanding of electrical, mechanical and structural consulting engineering – incorporates intelligence-based modelling software and a collaborative building information modelling approach to design and construction.
“An important advantage for our clients, is that effective coordination of all services is carried out in-house. “For example, internal plumbing and drainage is seamlessly integrated with the external water supply and drainage system, whilst structural design takes initial cognisance of the requirements for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services,” he explains.
The company’s Kenyan operation – Bosch East Africa – has extended its MEP services to include civil and structural engineering and project management services for residential, industrial and commercial installations. This has been done to cope with increasing demand for professional consulting services in the African building services sector.
“Projects recently completed in Kenya include the five-star Serena Hotel in Nairobi and the Crawford International School in Tatu City.”
Bosch Holdings achieved the coveted Green Precinct status on the 2 000 ha Ntshongweni Urban Development mixed-use city in KwaZulu-Natal. The company also designed the self-sustaining Fumba Town, the first major real-estate development in Zanzibar.
The company was also responsible for the design of a sustainable urban drainage system for the Hawaan Forest Estate in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, which has been successfully used in many subsequent projects.
In a recent refurbishment project for a State-owned enterprise in Gauteng, Bosch Holdings was responsible for the architectural and building service engineering aspects of a 65 000 m2 multistorey office complex.
Bosch Holdings offers multidisciplinary consulting to hospitals, multistorey buildings, community centres, schools, as well as environment-friendly industrial, residential and mixed-use developments. Specialist services are enhanced by a maintenance and support programme, to ensure all contractors comply with contractual and regulatory requirements.
