District of Düren, close to the municipality of Niederzier, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Project Owner/s
Multinational energy group RWE, through its subsidiary RWE Renewables Europe & Australia.

Project Description
The PV plant will have a capacity of 12 MW ac, enough green electricity to supply the equivalent of 4 500 homes.

Twenty-two thousand solar modules will be installed on 12 ha at the western edge of the Hambach opencast mine – above the future shore of the planned Hambach Lake.
