Help when its needed

BMG has donated over 140 pallets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Gift of the Givers Foundation – a leading welfare organisation in South Africa, that serves those in need with compassion, kindness and mercy.
The donation of critical PPE items – including protective clothing, safety spectacles, goggles, face masks, gloves, vests and rain suits – was made at a critical time earlier this year, when the Gift of the Givers (GOG) assisted in the early rescue discovery operation following the Türkiye earthquake.
This was also at the time Cyclone Freddy was approaching Mozambique and Malawi and GOG were again first response teams in that area and also assisted victims in the Eastern Cape floods.
“The BMG team is extremely proud to have been able to assist an admirable organisation like Gift of the Givers and to know our PPE has been used to help people in need across the globe,” says Stephen Allport, Strategic Support– Procurement, Tools & Equipment, BMG. “When it comes to saving the lives of the most vulnerable, GOG works fast to provide emergency medical supplies, equipment and support to those who have lost everything due to natural disaster, war and conflict, poverty or disease.
“This type of operation only works successfully with teamwork and we thank our entire team, including the Tools & Equipment members, Len Jacobs, Sales Manager and Corne Engelbrecht, PPE product specialist, as well as the Logistics warehouse members, led by Gary Hodkinson and assisted by Simeon van Jaarsveld and warehouse personnel, in preparing the pallets for the loading onto the GOG trucks.
“BMG’s mission statement, ‘Be part of the Process’ is true certainly true for this donation.”
BMG instils in its team a responsibility for health, safety, the environment and communities, and aligns with the philosophy of Founder of Gift of Givers, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, who said, “Actively living our values is critical in all that we do. Our organisation is positioned as a respectful guardian of hope and a protector of dignity and, therefore, the manner in which we deal with all people, irrespective of race, religion or gender is about respect and being the provider of hope.”
