John Deere adds more models to its construction equipment offering
Since original-equipment manufacturer John Deere announced its expansion into the sub-Saharan African market with its construction equipment in March, it has added nine more machines to its portfolio.
Among these additions is a 310L backhoe, which runs a 63 kW engine and has a four-speed PowerShift transmission, as well as digging capability of 4.2 m, a loading height of 3.1 m and a bucket capacity of 0.96 m3.
This general-purpose machine complements the 315SL backhoe loader that John Deere offers, which is better suited for operations in confined spaces.
The newly added 744L wheel loader, in addition to the five models already in John Deere’s arsenal, is designed with the mining and quarrying industry in mind. The machine runs a 236 kW engine, has an operating weight of 25.3 t and a bucket capacity range of between 3.8 m3 and 5.25 m3.
Alongside the John Deere 850J-II dozer, the company has added the 750J-II, which both run in the same playing field.
“We did not hold back this time now also introducing the 950K and 1050K Dozer models. These machines are designed big enough to handle mass-excavation and road-building tasks, its equally adept at fine grading and site development.
“You will get more done without a lot of extra effort, thanks to the dual-path hydrostatic transmission, which will allow you to push a full load through turns without losing material, unlike with torque-converter transmissions,” the company explains in a release.
The company has also added the 312GR and 318G skid steers to the portfolio.
These general-purpose machines cater to a range of applications, while the bigger 318G, with a vertical lift, offers more power.
John Deere reiterates that its articulated dump trucks – 310E and 460E – are built with customers’ needs in mind and prove reliable for the long haul.
The company also offers fleet management tools such as its telematics system called JDLink, which allows equipment owners and managers to remotely connect to their machinery to help monitor and track operations and productivity.
