Gloves on offer locally
GAINLY GRIP The Grippaz glove offers better 'grip-ability' as well as more comfort for the user
Wholesale personal protective equipment (PPE) and industrial consumables supplier G.Fox has added the patented nitrile Grippaz gloves to its PPE portfolio in the second quarter of this year.
The specially formulated gloves combine household gloves and disposable exam glove technology, which makes them touchscreen friendly.
The gloves, originally developed in Bangkok, Thailand, as well as in England, are manufactured by Grippaz in Bangkok and distributed in South Africa by G.Fox.
G.Fox marketing manager Shaun Botha tells Engineering News that the gloves offer “a multitude of benefits” for the automotive and engineering, food and beverage, medical hygiene and construction sectors.
The gloves are resistant to chemicals, such as clutch and brake fluid, which are used in the automotive and engineering sectors. They are also resistant to animal fats found in the processing of foods and offer a barrier against particles and aerosols found in the construction sector.
They are also chemically resistant against most cleaning agents used in medical janitorial applications and are a proven barrier against bacteria and viruses.
“The gloves are 100% nitrile, which is formed when acrylonitrile and butadiene are combined,” says Botha.
Less curing is used when the gloves are manufactured, which increases stretch and provides a snug fit, making it more comfortable to wear.
The “fish-scale” grip on the palm and inside of the thumb ensures secure purchase on the item being gripped.
“The gloves offer high levels of dexterity, which assist users in achieving a skill to its fullest potential,” he enthuses.
Household gloves are usually sold as one pair, with each glove suitable for one of either the left or the right hand, whereas the Grippaz support dexterity – the gloves have been designed to fit either the left or right hand.
“The client does not need to ‘break’ a pair, should they need to wear only one,” Botha explains.
The gloves have a standard thickness, while quality control is maintained throughout the manufacturing process. They can also be sold as 25 pairs in a pack, consequently reducing packaging costs.
Botha points out that the Grippaz gloves are also said to contribute to a circular economy, as they can be recycled to manufacture other nitrile products, such as running tracks, matting, patio furniture and flower pots,” he concludes.
