Anew range of energy efficient glass tem- pering furnaces, from glass processing solutions company Cooltemper, has been launched in South Africa to provide glass processors with broader options when choosing machinery.

Cooltemper is among the market leaders in areas such as Europe, the US and several Eastern countries, but until now has not been for sale nor represented on the African continent.

The range of tempering furnaces will provide local processors with the ability to temper glass, ranging from extremely thin glass for applications such as solar photovoltaic panels to the latest spectrally selective coated glasses used in the architectural environment. The machines will be distributed and supported by local glass equipment specialist FG Trading.

“It is our ongoing aim to bring the best machines from across the globe to our local glass processors. Worldwide, the Cooltemper brand is synonymous with high-quality technologically advanced glass tempering equipment at a reasonable price – ideal for the local market,” says FG Trading MD Stuart Fraser.
He says the local operation will uphold simi- lar values as operations elsewhere around the world, with particular attention paid to providing the right technical solutions for the job. The company will provide ongoing service and support of machines throughout the Southern African region.

The range of furnaces is on average 25% more efficient than existing units that are currently in operation in South Africa. Its solutions provide processors with a full range of options for any manufacturing requirement and further customised options are available as required.

Top sellers in the range include Jetstream, which is a top and bottom aspirated convection furnace. It tempers all types of energy efficient glass from 2.8 mm to 25 mm thickness, producing high-quality glass with good visual and performance qualities, combined with high production cycles.

It is suited for architecture glass, automotive glass, optical and technical glass and solar glass.

The Super Jetstream is a full convection furnace for all types of glass between 2.8 mm and 12 mm thicknesses. A balanced airflow circulation system ensures a uniform heat pattern across the glass, giving fast production cycles, good visual characteristics and high performance, and is appropriate for all types of applications.

The Firejet Plus is a low-energy convection furnace for glass of all thicknesses and is ideal for high-volume low-emissivity-glass production.

Other production machines include chemi- cal tempering, heat soaks, double chamber furnaces, continuous furnaces, paint drying ovens, glass scanners, insulated glass lines and glass washing machines.
