A range of portable power solutions are now available from BLUETTI to help South Africans mitigate the effects of loadshedding and power outages.

The AC200MAX unit is a scalable home backup power solution with a 2 048 Wh battery capacity and 2 200 W AC output (4 800 W surge). The 16-outlet power station can be used to provide uninterrupted power to most household appliances and essential devices during loadshedding, including refrigerators, air conditioners and electric ovens.

It can power a 150 W refrigerator for 10 hours, a 10 W light bulb for over 150 hours, or a 5 000 British thermal unit, or BTU, air conditioner for up to four hours. The unit’s capacity can be extended by adding two 2 048 Wh B230 battery units, increasing the total battery capacity to 6 144 Wh and enabling users to power devices two to three times longer.

The AC200MAX offers seven charging methods, including solar, car charging, and AC power, either separately or in combination, for flexible, fast recharging.

For extended power outages, the EP500Pro is the recommended solution. It is described as a  powerful and robust generator which has a  5 100 Wh capacity and a 3 000 W output. It features uninterruptible power supply, or UPS, and functionality designed to ensure a seamless 20 ms switchover when the power goes out. The unit features 15 power outlets, allowing multiple devices to be charged simultaneously.

The EP500Pro is powered by LiFePO4, or lithium-iron-phosphate, batteries and features an intelligent battery management system, or BMS, to help protect against overcharging. The unit is mounted on four wheels, ensuring easy mobility.  

The EB3A and EB70 models are compact and especially suited to meet emergency power needs. Weighing only 4.6 kg, the EB3A offers a 268 Wh capacity with a 600 W maximum output and features nine outlets to power electronics and small devices.

The unit can be recharged using AC power, solar panels, a car, or a generator and supports 430 W dual charging to reach a full charge within two hours. It also features UPS functionality to power critical loads during sudden power failures and can be controlled remotely from a smartphone.

The EB70 has a larger capacity of 716 Wh and weighs 9.7 kg and includes twelve outlets and 1 000 W output power. It can also be charged using multiple methods, including wall outlets, solar panels, and car chargers.
