Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, announces the launch of the SCPSDI, a next-generation pressure switch engineered for permanent series use in demanding industrial applications.
The SCPSDI combines an innovative design with diverse connection possibilities, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of industries, such as industrial manufacturing equipment, off-road machinery, power generation and transportation. It provides flexible, robust, low-maintenance pressure switching, while an intuitive graphical interface ensures easy operation. Users will further benefit from the new pressure switch’s improved diagnostics and monitoring functions, stability and durability, simplified installation and commissioning.
The SCPSDI features a unique external-thread pressure port that can be rotated independently of the housing, enabling installation even in tight spaces. After installation, the housing itself can be rotated over 240 degrees, providing exceptional adaptability to various mounting conditions. For the internal-thread pressure port, all components that come into contact with the pressurized medium are made from stainless steel. The seal-free design allows the sensor to be used with a wide variety of substances, including corrosive and aggressive media, ensuring durability and broad application compatibility. The sensor is equipped with a beveled display that guarantees readability from large distances and can be rotated 180 degrees for overhead installation. An additional two-color indicator clearly displays the switching status, enhancing operational transparency.
The SCPSDI records pressure using a long-term stable and maintenance-free measuring cell. Functional errors are signaled and can be further processed. The robust metal housing contains no moving seals, making it resistant to moisture, shock, and vibrations, which ensures reliable operation even in harsh industrial environments.
The device is designed for ease of use, with terminology, symbols, and a menu structure that comply with the VDMA standard journal. Parameters can be easily browsed and adjusted using buttons, simplifying commissioning and maintenance. Each switching output can be individually configured as normally open or normally closed contacts, with adjustable on/off switching pressures, delay times, and hysteresis or window functions. Depending on the version, the analogue output can be configured as either a switchable current output (0–20 mA or 4–20 mA) or a voltage output (0–10 V). Additionally, I/O-Link communication is integrated as a standard feature, allowing seamless integration with modern automation systems.
The SCPSDI is available in numerous versions to meet diverse application requirements, offering pressure ranges from 4 bar up to 600 bar, options for internal or external threads, and models with switching outputs only or combined with analogue output.
The launch of SCPSDI is part of the upcoming renewal of Parker’s controller family range, reinforcing its commitment to providing comprehensive and cutting-edge solutions for industrial automation. Further updates are announced regarding level and temperature measurement capabilities in due course.
“The SCPSDI exemplifies Parker’s ongoing commitment to innovation and customer-focused design,” said Konstantin Reichtner, Product Manager at Parker SensoControl. “Its unique combination of installation flexibility, robust construction, and versatile connectivity makes it a highly effective solution for a wide range of industrial applications.”
The SCPSDI is now available worldwide through Parker’s authorized distributors and sales channels. For more information, technical specifications, or to request a demonstration, please visit: https://ph.parker.com/gb/en/product-list/scpsdi-pressureswitch
