Quick recovery for industrial printers after power outages
Conventional industrial printers that are used to print codes or serial numbers on products and packaging often experience startup problems after power outages because inks dry up quickly, contaminating the print head and clogging the lines. Restarting these printers usually involves a time-consuming manual cleaning process.
To avoid these complications, the IQJET from LEIBINGER features an integrated energy storage system for an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). In the event of a power failure the printer powers itself down and its print nozzle is automatically sealed, ensuring that the ink does not dry out and that the print head is protected from contamination. This controlled shutdown with a closed ink circuit means that the printers don’t have to be cleaned before being restarted, which helps reduce additional downtime.
The UPS is designed to ensure the printer is ready for use after extended periods of downtime or relatively short power interruptions, which helps prevent malfunctions and fluctuations in print quality and improves operational reliability. This in turn enables companies to reduce costs and to help protect the environment.
LEIBINGER says its IQJET is an efficient solution for the coding and marking of products across a wide range of sectors. The printer is designed with a ‘plug and print’ functionality and promises good print quality and operational availability, without the need for cleaning. Additional features include intuitive operation, reduced operating costs, improved productivity and five years of maintenance-free operation.
