Commercial solar energy specialist Red Energy has launched SigenStor – an artificial intelligence (AI) optimised five-in-one energy storage system – in South Africa.

Red Energy has been chosen as one of the few approved installers for SigenStor, highlighting the company's commitment to providing South African businesses with cutting-edge solar solutions and quality installations.

This allows Red Energy to offer South African businesses state-of-the-art solar solutions, addressing current challenges in the market.

SigenStor – the first of its kind system in Africa – is designed to seamlessly integrate into residential and commercial solar installations, addressing key concerns such as battery safety, installation efficiency, system integration and overall system intelligence.

This product marks a “turning point” in the solar energy landscape, presenting businesses with an integrated, scalable and technologically advanced solution that promises matchless efficiency, flexibility and resilience.

SigenStor's adaptability leverages weather data for precise power generation forecasting, intuitive AI learning for load adaptation, real-time electricity tariff data for maximum savings, and region-specific loadshedding schedules for intelligent battery use adjustments.

The result is a comprehensive energy solution that sets a new standard for safety, intelligence and efficiency.

Its modern and sleek design takes up 50% less space and is IP66-rated for outdoor installation. The stackable – stack-and-play – design minimises wiring and saves time during installation, making it upgradeable.

Moreover, no wiring means no loose connections and no maintenance.

Safety features include five layers of battery system protection, including internal fire suppression.

The true financial benefit of SigenStor is in the AI-powered software. Through constant learning of needs, the system is kept at optimal efficiency.

Problematic sections are automatically isolated instead of shutting down the entire system, which maximises the lifespan of each component and limits further system damage.

A full system diagnosis is completed in 30 seconds, with the mySigen mobile app informing the consumer of concerns before they cause problems.

“The introduction of SigenStor to South Africa marks a significant leap forward for the solar industry in our country.

“This is the world’s first five-in-one power management system that combines inverter, batteries and energy management into a single stackable unit. The advanced technology also allows direct tapping into direct current power from the battery and solar panel, enabling virtual grid capacity expansion and 100% green power charging,” comments Red Energy CEO Jakes Joubert.
