South African aviation company announces major facilities expansion at Lanseria
South African business and general aviation aircraft sales, service and parts company Absolute Aviation has announced a major expansion of its facilities at Lanseria International Airport, in Gauteng province. The company is the authorised sales, service and parts provider for Beechcraft, Cessna and Pipistrel. It is also authorised to provide maintenance for Hawker Aircraft business jets and, now, Embraer ERJ135/ERJ145-family regional jets.
“This expansion represents a major milestone for Absolute Aviation,” highlighted company CEO Neil Howard. “The increased hangar and warehouse space, along with the expanded maintenance capabilities, will allow us to better serve our customers and meet the growing demand for aircraft maintenance and parts services in the region.”
The expansion will involve a new hangar, offices and workshop and warehouse space. The service centre’s hangar space will be increased from 2 994 m2 to 4 323 m2. The company’s warehouse space will grow from 240 m2 to 330 m2. The extra office space will be needed to accommodate the increasing number of staff and to provide increased capacity for operations. There will also be an expanded customer area, for the representatives of owners whose aircraft are undergoing maintenance.
“Absolute Aviation has the largest facility presence at Lanseria International Airport and is the single largest company at South Africa’s premier business and general aviation airport,” he pointed out. “We remain committed to providing our clients with the highest level of service and support and the largest stockholding of aircraft parts in Africa, and this expansion is a testament to that commitment.”
The company’s authorised activities cover both Southern and Central Africa. In addition to the South African Civil Aviation Authority, the company has been approved by the civil aviation authorities of Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, and also by the US Federal Aviation Administration. Lanseria is its certified base station and it has satellite stations in Cape Town, Maun (Botswana), Nairobi (Kenya) and Lomé (Togo).
