The project is central to Uzbekistan’s ambition to install 25 GW of renewables by 2030.

The greenfield development will stabilise the Uzbek grid, and will involve the construction of a 200 MW solar PV plant and a 500 MWh battery energy storage system – the largest of its kind in Asia. This project will be able to power 170 000 households and the battery storage capacity is equivalent to that of 8 000 electric vehicles.
