Telkom forms new technology committee

JSE-listed telecommunications group Telkom has established a technology committee to boost technology strategies.

According to an update to shareholders on Sens on Wednesday, the new Technology Committee governance structure was constituted to assist the board with oversight of technology and innovation strategies, and plans and operations related to information security, cybersecurity, data privacy and third-party technology strategies.

The Technology Committee comprises H Singh as chairperson, with members including SP Sibisi, IO Selele, KA Rayner, PCS Luthuli and LL Von Zeuner.

Meanwhile, Telkom also announced changes to two existing board committees, the Nominations and the Social and Ethics committees, with effect from April 1.

The Nominations Committee will be reconstituted with MG Qhena as chairperson, and comprise members B Kennedy, EG Matenge-Sebesho and Selele.

The Social and Ethics Committee will be reconstituted with Matenge-Sebesho as chairperson, and comprise Kennedy, Selele, Sibisi, S Taukobong and N Dlamini.

The rest of the committees remain unchanged.
