Parts formation provider Norican’s Monitizer platform and furnace equipment supplier ABP’s Digital Services announced an agreement had been made in February to interface their products in an effort to advance foundry digitalisation.

Monitizer and ABP Induction Systems will build links between their digital systems, to create an interface that will share furnace data from ABP Digital Services with the Monitizer Suite.

Monitizer is a modular, equipment- and brand agnostic Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform for the foundry industry.

Monitizer | DISCOVER collects, aggregates and displays data from multiple equipment lines or global sites, with user-friendly reporting and visualisation tools that help unlock serious process improvements fast.

Monitizer | PRESCRIBE harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to optimise an entire foundry process – proven to drive average scrap reductions of 40%.

“I am delighted to announce that we will work with ABP to support data transfers between our systems,” says Norican Monitizer brand head Nina Dybdal Rasmussen.

“The more data our clients can extract, the greater the potential for improvement – which is why we built Monitizer as an IIoT system capable of connecting all parts of the line,” she adds.

“ABP enables a vital part of the foundry process and integrating data from their equipment into Monitizer will be a substantial benefit for the company’s joint clients.”

She points out that ABP’s portal “my ABP.com” is the gateway into digitalisation.

It provides all relevant foundry equipment documentation, and specialised hardware and software to enhance the intelligence of the foundry's equipment, skill management and communication of the foundry personnel and virtual emotional learning environments.

It also provides digital twins, as well as fully automated service application including an around-the-clock open spare parts Web store and ticketing application.

“Foundries need to be able to bring their data together in one place and everyone will benefit from this practical, constructive agreement,” says ABP Induction Systems president and CEO Till Schreiter.

He adds that ABP and Norican are both highly motivated to help digitalise the foundry industry and linkages like this between different suppliers are vital to support completely connected digital eco-systems.

“Without them, it will be impossible for foundries to extract the full value from their data.”
