Admiral Mobility UAE and South African mobility management platform provider GoMetro have formed a joint venture (JV) to assist commercial fleet operators to transition to electric fleets in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The partnership combines GoMetro's fleet management technology, including its electric vehicle (EV) telematics product EV-CAN, with Admiral Mobility's knowledge of this Middle Eastern region.

The resulting ecosystem aims to support the UAE's shift towards electric commercial fleet operations, while also helping multinational companies to reach their environmental, social and governance targets, and to reduce costs.

The JV offers complete fleet electrification services for commercial enterprises, including telematics and route planning through GoMetro’s Bridge platform; real-time tyre pressure monitoring through ConnecTyre, by GoMetro; strategic planning and implementation of charging infrastructure using EV-FIT, by GoMetro; and real-time fleet analytics and monitoring systems using EV-CAN, also by GoMetro.

The JV is already operational, with initial programmes launching across key Emirates markets in the first quarter of this year.

“[This] region represents a key market for electric fleet adoption,” says GoMetro CEO Justin Coetzee.

“Our alliance with Admiral Mobility creates a complete solution for the unique demands of operating electric commercial fleets in this region."
