An expansive 650 m2 showroom in the heart of Kramerville, designed to showcase the latest in furniture innovation, functionality, and design, has been launched by X-Furniture. With a keen focus on creating an immersive experience for designers, the showroom provides a dynamic space for inspiration, collaboration, and discovery.
Conrad Burger, Managing Director of X-Furniture, shares his enthusiasm for the new space: “We are thrilled to invite designers and clients to explore our brand-new showroom. This is not just a display of furniture; it is a fully interactive environment where creativity, functionality, and cutting-edge design come together.”
The showroom boasts an exciting range of offerings, from locally manufactured collections to exclusive international products. It allows visitors to be the first to explore X-Furniture’s exciting new collections, proudly made in South Africa, offering both innovation and quality craftsmanship. The showroom will also feature Sunon’s latest products, introduced under the inspiring theme ‘Sunon in Nature’, blending natural aesthetics with modern design principles.
A major highlight of the showroom is the country’s first 1:1 scale room, which allows designers and clients to project floor plans to scale and experience them in full 3D. This innovative tool brings plans to life, helping clients visualise spatial elements like never before.
X-Furniture’s showroom is designed with collaboration in mind. An entire room in the showroom will demonstrate four distinct office layouts, showcasing the flexibility of its modular furniture systems. From boardrooms to open-plan spaces, the showroom offers a glimpse into the various ways their pieces can adapt to changing needs.
“We have designed the space to help clients visualise what their finished office will look like, making it easier to make decisions,” says Burger. “It is all about giving people the ability to see how their vision translates into reality.” A 3D walkthrough of the showroom on the X-Furniture website allows designers and clients to virtually explore the space and zoom in on the details that matter most.
A key element of the showroom is its ability to showcase a variety of furniture solutions, from high-end executive suites to ergonomic, customisable workstations. Latest designs include a portable acoustic booth offering private meeting space with HEPA air filtration, making it a flexible option for open-plan offices.
Seating cubicles are available that offer more privacy than traditional cubicles, with the seating space designed with rounded corners for a softer, more welcoming feel. The showroom even introduces a modern take on breakout areas, featuring comfortable, interactive setups like a gaming area aimed at younger generations, complete with LED-lit gaming chairs and acoustic panelling.
For more traditional needs, X-Furniture also offers customizable office desk setups that combine privacy and flexibility. Partition screens and planters create a softer, more natural look, giving clients the ability to personalise their space further.
X-Furniture stands apart from other furniture providers by offering both imported and locally manufactured ranges. For those seeking high-quality, customisable designs, the company has established a local factory capable of producing bespoke pieces to suit specific requirements.
“Designers love to put their own spin on things, and we pride ourselves on our ability to bring those ideas to life,” explains Burger. “Whether it is a drawing from a designer or a custom request, our local factory allows us to build anything a designer envisions.”
For designers looking to enhance their presentations, the showroom also includes a mock-up area featuring monitors, stands, and cable management systems. This space encourages designers to think outside the box, showcasing all the integral elements that can enhance both the functionality and comfort of a workspace.
X-Furniture’s new showroom is not just a place to see and purchase furniture; it is designed to be an experiential space where designers and clients can engage and collaborate. The showroom's unique layout, including elements like a full fabric wall and dedicated seating areas for innovation sessions, encourages interaction and offers opportunities for both creative inspiration and knowledge sharing.
“We wanted to create a space that goes beyond the traditional showroom. This is a destination for designers and clients to come together, explore new ideas, and push the boundaries of what is possible in office design,” says Burger.
With a full installation team, X-Furniture provides clients with comprehensive solutions, from custom designs to complete office fit-outs. The company is committed to offering excellent service, guiding clients through the entire process from design to installation.
X-Furniture’s hybrid approach, offering both local and imported ranges, ensures that clients find the perfect balance between price, quality, and lead time. This adaptability makes X-Furniture an ideal partner for projects of all sizes, from small offices to large corporate spaces.
The opening of the new showroom marks a new chapter for X-Furniture, positioning the company as a leader in the South African office furniture market. As businesses continue to embrace flexible, functional office spaces, X-Furniture is ready to meet the growing demand for innovative, customisable solutions.
“For designers and clients looking for a space that blends inspiration with practicality, our new showroom is the ultimate destination. Whether you are redesigning an office or creating a brand-new workspace, we are here to turn your vision into reality,” concludes Burger.
